This project involved construction of a City-owned detention system north of the Westview Acres subdivision to alleviate flooding of said subdivision.  HMG coordinated environmental clearances with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, the Illinois Historic Preservation Agency, and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.  Approximately 17,000 cubic yards of earth were required to be excavated for establishment of 10,500 cubic yards of storage during the 100 year storm event.  HMG provided topographic and legal surveys; geometric design; temporary and permanent easement platting, and preparation of plans, specifications and estimates.  The total construction cost was approximately $180,000 and the project funding was 100% local non-MFT.
