The 12th Street Resurfacing Project, located in Metropolis, IL began at the intersection of 12th Street and North Avenue and traveled easterly along 12th street to approximately 500’ west of US 45 with a total length of construction being 5950 feet (1.127 miles).  Operations included the patching, milling and overlaying of the existing hot-mix asphalt surface which had been patched in many locations due to a previous combined sewer separation project.  At the numerous intersections where curb ramps and stairs were present, new curb ramps, combination curb and gutter, and retaining walls were constructed to meet the current Americans with Disabilities Act policies.  HMG provided topographic surveying, engineering, and construction administration services to the City of Metropolis for the successful delivery of this project.  The total cost of this project, as constructed, $970,283.72 funded through Illinois Department of Transportation Motor-Fuel Tax funds.
