Derek Anderson, P.E.

Derek Anderson is a seasoned civil engineer with over 13 years of experience in transportation, water, and wastewater infrastructure. Since joining HMG Engineers, he has led projects from initial planning through construction, bringing expertise in roadway design, water main improvements, sanitary sewer rehabilitation, stormwater management, and utility coordination.

He is a licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois and Wisconsin and has managed projects that directly improve community infrastructure and reliability. Derek’s projects include water main replacements, wastewater lift station improvements, sanitary sewer upgrades, and major roadway rehabilitations. His well-rounded background includes construction management for light rail and roadway projects, as well as geotechnical inspections, surveying, and permitting.

Active in his profession, Derek is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the American Public Works Association.
