Phase I of this multi-phase project focused on improvements to the Village’s water treatment performance & system operation.

• Replacement of pressure-filter media, with the addition of manganese greensand to enhance iron & manganese removal.
• Replacement of filter under-drains.
• Replacement of valves & installation of new air blower.

Phase II expanded the improvements beyond the water treatment plant to address system capacity, reliability, water quality, and storage needs. Improvements included:

• Development of a comprehensive water distribution system hydraulic model to evaluate system capacity & identify infrastructure needs.
• Replacement of High Service Pumps & Low Service Pumps
• Replacement and modernization of Chemical Feeds at the Water Treatment Plant.
• Installation of water main looping to improve circulation and water quality throughout the distribution system.
• Replacement of an existing 30,000-gallon elevated and 160,000-gallon ground storage tank with a new 300,000-gallon single pedestal elevated water tank, providing increased storage capacity and improved system reliability.
