Douglas Ratermann, P.E., P.L.S.

Doug Ratermann has been with HMG Engineers since 1999 and holds over 25 years of experience in civil engineering, surveying, and transportation design. As Senior Vice President and Principal of HMG’s Civil Sector, he oversees all surveying operations at HMG, including alignment and design surveys, construction staking, right-of-way calculations, platting, and geomatics operations.

Doug is a licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Land Surveyor in Illinois. His background spans roadway and subdivision design, storm sewer and drainage improvements, and numerous industrial and commercial site developments. He also serves as MFT Program Manager for multiple communities, overseeing transportation budgets, material needs, and IDOT submittals across the region.

Active in his profession, Doug is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers, Illinois Professional Land Surveyors Association, and Illinois GIS Association.
