take ownership of your future
Become an
owner
Everyone at HMG Engineers has a personal stake in the business through participation in our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).
We are employee-owners and are empowered every day to bring our shared vision of success for our clients, our team members and our company.

Our culture is strengthened by each other and the
three pillars of success
Engage
We have a culture that supports and celebrates each other, and we recognize the impact of combining personal and company successes.
Success doesn’t have to be defined by a role; we provide our employee-owners the opportunity to fulfill their passion and show gratitude by serving on various committees and teams.
But most importantly, you can find us making time for each other during team outings, service events in the community, team-building activities, team dinners, and nearly anything involving friendly competition.
Empower
As we continue the venture of employee ownership, we see the impact of continuous education. Our leadership team provides guidance and opportunities for our engineers to discover areas of expertise and promote individual strengths, allowing them to take on more responsibility as their careers progress.
Educate
As an employee-owned company, we have the ability to make lives better. We provide a more robust retirement benefit rooted in the success of our company through our ESOP plan, while maintaining the traditional flexibility of individual investing in our company sponsored 401(K) plan. Our health insurance benefits, lifestyle spending account, flexible schedules, hybrid work from home policy, among our other benefits, promote the health and well-being of our employee owners.
What is an Employee Stock Ownership Plan?
An Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) is a retirement plan governed by ERISA, similar to a 401(k), but it primarily holds company stock in a trust for employees. HMG is 100% employee-owned, meaning all company stock is held in our ESOP. Shares are allocated to employees based on a percentage of salary and grow over time, with benefits paid out when an employee retires or leaves the company.
Advantages of Working for an ESOP
Research from the NCEO and The ESOP Association shows that ESOPs boost company performance and employee financial well-being. ESOP companies often outperform non-ESOP peers, with higher profitability, stronger revenue growth, and greater employment stability.
What we appreciate about being employee owned
Being part of an inclusive, supportive culture. Being able to see the impact of our effort on the company’s stock value. We work together for a shared benefit – the company’s success is our success!
