HMG Engineers, Inc., a 100% employee-owned consulting engineering firm headquartered in Breese, Illinois, is proud to announce key changes to its leadership team, effective January 1, 2025.

These appointments reflect our ongoing commitment to strong leadership, strategic growth, and delivering top-tier service in transportation, water, and civil engineering across Illinois.

Executive Leadership Updates

  • Bradley Hummert, P.E., S.E. has been named Chairman of the Board

  • Brian Buchheit, P.E., BCEE now serves as Chief Executive Officer

  • Brandon Ratermann, P.E., PTOE has been appointed President & Principal – Transportation

  • Brett Benhoff, P.E. steps into the role of Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary & Principal – Project Management

Senior Vice President Appointments

  • Douglas Ratermann, P.E., P.L.S. – Senior Vice President & Principal – Civil

  • John Wieter, P.E. – Re-appointed Senior Vice President & Principal – Water

  • Christopher Bouchard, P.E. – Senior Vice President & Principal – Northern Illinois Market (based in our Mundelein Office)

All of the above leaders serve on HMG’s Board of Directors and are based at our Corporate Office in Breese, with the exception of Mr. Bouchard.
